These days, choosing a dating site can almost be as complicated as finding the right partner, these sites have proliferated across the web and come in all shapes and sizes. Confused? Mingle2 presents itself as a one-size fits all site and claims that online dating has “never been simpler”. For anyone over the age of 18, it’s incredibly quick to join up and there’s no need to commit to a premium membership - contact and messaging are unlimited with a standard account. What are you waiting for? You know, the perfect person for you is probably out there waiting. Maybe even on Mingle2. So what do you have to lose?
Signing up to Mingle2 takes just minutes - create an account by providing your name, email address and date of birth and answer some quick questions from drop-down lists and you’re ready to go. You can add a personal touch with a profile picture and some more detailed interests later.
Mingle2 provides multiple ways to meet your match. From your Account Home page you’ll see a list of anyone who’s recently viewed your profile which gives you an immediate place to start. Elsewhere on the site you can see who’s online, in case you’re looking to chat right away. On your Home page you’ll also find a banner of profiles that Mingle2’s algorithm has especially selected for you. There’s also a search function with an advanced feature. You can send a message, or if words aren’t forthcoming choose an “action” to get their attention, give them a nudge or blow them a kiss!
Mingle2 have an active community through their userbase and that shows in the forums. If you don’t find someone you want to message privately right away you can hit the forums to take part in open discussions with other site users - discuss your favourite movies, share your poetry or comment in “Rate My Profile” for some constructive feedback - if you dare.
Mingle2’s standardised information is pretty restrictive - smoker? want children? From there, you can add a list of searchable “interest” tags, these stack up on your profile separated by commas. Then there’s a section for a self description, but these aren’t commonly filled in with details so there’s no pressure to get creative. There’s no limit to how many photos you can upload onto Mingle2 so you’ll be sure to be able to show off your best side(s).
Mingle2’s premium experience is called MinglePlus and will cost you from £4.49 to £7.99 a month depending on how long you’re committing for. An advantage of Mingle2’s free package however is that browsing, messaging and chatting are all included so there’s no pressing need to pay up. However if you want to stand out from the crowd, paying for MinglePlus will boost your profile in the search, as well as unlocking features such as invisible browsing (so other profiles can’t see you looking) and expands your inbox so messages are permanently saved.
If you splash out on MinglePlus you’ll be committing to 3, 6 or 12 months - and these automatically renew. However, if you do want to cancel you can easily do so in your account settings - navigate to Premium Membership Status, and you can end your payments at the click of a button.
The free membership for Mingle2 will be sufficient for most users of the site - this is a big drawing point.
A free profile on Mingle2 won’t limit you from searching the site by any parameter or interest that’s important to you.
Nudge, wink, or blow someone a kiss as a way of making first contact, or get right down to messaging with the free account. However messages in your inbox will only be retained for 30 days on a free account.
This simple additional tool helps you match on the site, presenting randomly selected profiles. If you say Yes to a match, and they do to, you’ll both be notified. It’s an easy way to break the ice.
With a free account you can keep tabs on anyone who’s visited your profile in the “Who Viewed Me” tab. Unless they’re a premium member browsing in Stealth mode!
There’s a functional mobile app with all the same features as the desktop.
If you want to take full advantage of the site there are a few more features you can access.
With a premium account you can choose to turn on “stealth mode” which hides your visits to user profiles. So search away!
With a premium account you’ll be able to see if someone has read a message you sent.
Your profile will be prioritised up the list in others’ searches, letting you get ahead of the game.
With a free account messages will be deleted after 30 days - on a premium account they are stored forever giving you time to compose the perfect response.

Mingle2’s template layout won’t be winning any design awards, but this means that it's going to be immediately obvious to the average user how to find all the features of the site. The speed and ease with which you can create a profile will encourage you to get stuck in straight away and that’s Mingle2’s selling point. With their intuitive layout and functional free services you won’t bump into any additional barriers often found on the more complex and stylish sites. MutualMatch and the nudging, winking and kiss-blowing actions give you plenty of ways to get in touch besides the usually painstaking first contact, and with an active membership & handy search criteria you’ll have no trouble finding someone who catches the eye. If you’re looking for a dating site to surprise you, Mingle2 might not be the one but for a simple, functional and most importantly free experience Mingle2 ticks all the boxes.
Great website guys. I found it to be much more effective than other dating sites. Thumbs up from me!!! Very happy
Finding dating sites these days is pretty easy to do, but finding one that has so enough options of what you are looking for is a whole other issue. For me, Mingle2 ticked all the boxes. Have been on some great dates and hope for more!
Very good app. But why do you have to pay to communicate? Like sending a crush costs money.
I have found this site perfect for my needs. There are real people here, making me laugh, and also happy for me to open up to them. Even about what I want in the bedroom etc. Would use again, if I was single again obv!
